Upon Arrival
Must be done as soon as you arrive to the job.
Site Assessment
Inspect Jobsite Access: Confirm clear and safe access routes for trucks and paving equipment.
Evaluate Subgrade Conditions:
Ensure the subgrade is compacted and stable.
Check for any soft spots, standing water, or improper grading.
Verify the subgrade meets the required elevation and slope as per plans.
Check Utilities:
Confirm the location of underground utilities (gas, water, electrical, etc.).
Ensure any utility adjustments (manholes, valves) have been completed to proper levels.
Drainage Inspection:
Confirm that existing drainage systems are operational and match project requirements.
Look for obstructions in stormwater systems or drainage pathways.
Material Readiness
Verify with Plant Operator: Confirm plant functionality, order placement, and estimated time of load out for trucks.
Verify Material Specifications:
Ensure the mix design matches project specifications.
Ensure the mix is within the acceptable temperature ranges and usable.
Weather Condtions
Check Weather Forecast: Verify that weather conditions (temperature, precipitation) are suitable for paving.
Check before releasing material order
Monitor throughout day
Assess On-Site Conditions:
Ensure no recent rain or freezing temperatures have compromised the subgrade or base material.
